Team Iran's Para Canoe at Paris 2024
Iran’s Para Canoe obtains two
Paralympic berths for Paris 2024 at ICF World Championships in 2023 and 2024 and
celebrates its third Summer Paralympics appearance at the Games.

Para Paris 2024 will be the third
Paralympic Games with Para canoe on the sports programme.
Up to 100 athletes (50 men and 50
women) will compete across 10 medal events at the Paris 2024 Paralympics:
Kayak single KL1 (men, women), Kayak single KL2 (men, women), Kayak single KL3 (men, women)
Va’a single VL2 (men, women), Va’a single VL3 (men, women)
The Venue
The Vaires-Sur-Marne Nautical Stadium
will stage Para canoe and Para rowing competitions at Paris 2024 and scheduled
to run from September 6 to 8.
Located near the Disneyland Paris
theme park, the venue was built in 2019 ahead of the Games.
Athletes will race in front of 12,000
spectators in Para canoe and 14,000 in Para rowing.
Brief History of Iran Para Canoe at Paralympics
Canoe made its Paralympic debut at
Rio 2016, with 60 athletes competing over six events and Iran Para Canoe team have
also appeared three times at Summer Paralympic Games since 2016.

In Rio 2016, Iranian Para Canoer
Shahla Behrouzirad represented Team Iran in Women’s KL3 at Paralympic Games.
She ranked ninth at the Games, under
the lead of head coach Masoud Mahdavinia.
Tokyo 2020
The team was highlighted by two Para Canoers,
including Shahla Behrouzirad and Eslam Jahedi, represented the country at Tokyo
2020 head coach Masoud Mahdavinia.
Behrouzirad in her second Paralympics
appearance reached to the final race and finished in seventh.
