Paralympic Games History and Achievements of NPC I.R. Iran

Four years after Ludwig Guttmann established the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in England for the rehabilitation of World War II veterans and spinal cord injured soldiers and civilians through rehabilitation sports, the first edition of a sporting event named the Stoke Mandeville Games was organized during the Opening Ceremony of London 1948 Olympic Games. In 1960, the first Paralympic Games was hosted in Rome, Italy after Rome 1960 Summer Olympics. The Paralympic Games have been taking place every four years ever since. Further to that, the delivery of the first Winter Paralympics in 1976 in Sweden served as the milestone for the development of Paralympic Movement.

You can see the achievements made by NPC Iran during the 17 appearances at the Paralympics.
