The competition will be held at the Dubai Club for the Disabled from 15-19 February 2016.
The Fazza IPC World Cup is one of the major competitions for athletes on the road to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
“Our main goal to compete in the event is the competition will have Paralympic Rankings approval results. We could participate at the 2016 IPC Powerlifting World Cup in Rio, scheduled for January 21 to 23 or in the competition which will be held in Kuala Lumpur from February 24 to 28 but we decided to participate in the UAE competition since it was the best choice for us in terms of travel distance. Also, the UAE is an Islamic country,” Seyed Alireza Hosseini, head of Iranian Powerlifting Association for Disabled, told Paralympic.ir.
Athletes participating in the 7th Fazza IPC Powerlifting World Cup 2016 could be subject to anti-doping testing according to IPC Po / IPC and WADA rules.
Siamand Rahman in the +107kg, Ali Sadeghzadeh in the 107kg, Saman Razi in the 97kg, Hamed Solhipour in the 88kg, and Hamzeh Mohammadi in the 59kg will represent Iran in the event.
