TEHRAN - Secretary General of the Dutch Paralympic Committee, Andre Cats, visited Iran’s training camps ahead of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
Cats, who is Chef de Mission of the Dutch Paralympic Team in Rio, visited the training camps of Iran’s powerlifting and women’s sitting volleyball.
Cats, accompanied by his Iranian counterpart Masoud Asharafi, met Siamand Rahman, the strongest Paralympian in the world.
“Iran has a long history like the Netherlands and I think Iranian Paralympians are very professional. It’s good to see the people of Iran take serious the sports and we can learn from that,” Cats said.
“I think Iran will have a good performance in the upcoming Paralympics. The Iranian delegation finished in 11th place in the 2012 Paralympic Games and the Netherlands came 10th in the event and I think two countries will have a close competition in Rio,” he added.
