Sitting volleyball coach Hadi Rezaei says that host Brazil is a strong team but Bosnia and Herzegovina is Iran’s main rival at the Rio Paralympic Games.

Five-time Paralympic gold medallist Iran is in Pool B alongside world and European champion Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia and China.

Pool A consists of host Brazil, Egypt, Germany and the USA.

“We need to concentrate on Bosnia and Herzegovina in preliminary round. We need to go step by step,” Rezaei told Paralympic.org.

“Iranian players have participated in two training camps in Germany and the Netherlands so far. We also played friendly matches against China, Germany and the Netherlands,” he added.

“The final match will be played at the Paralympics closing day. The Brazilian team will be supported by home fans if it advances to the final. However, we have defeated them twice in our previous matches,” he said.
