Mohsen Kaedi from Iran snatched a bronze medal at the men’s javelin F34 in the Paralympic Games on Thursday.
The Iranian thrower, who won a gold medal in javelin and a silver at shot put in the 2012 London, came third with a throw of 33.42m.
Colombia’s Mauricio Valencia (36.65m) set a new Games record to win the event.
Silver medal also went to China’s Yanzhang Wang (34.25m).
Iran has participated at the 2016 Summer Paralympics with 111 athletes in 12 sports.
The Iranian delegation finished in 11th place in the previous edition, winning 10 gold medals, seven silvers and seven bronze medals.
