International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach sent his condolences to the family of Iranian Paracyclist Bahman Golbarnezhad.
Golbarnezhad died following a crash in the men's C4/C5 road race at the Rio Paralympics.
The 48-year-old Paracyclist, who also competed at the London 2012 Games, had finished in 14th place in the time-trial in Paralympics. He was Iran's sole cyclist in Rio.
“Our sympathy goes to the family of Bahman Golbarnezhad, his friends and the entire Iran Paralympic team. Our thoughts are with his family,” Bach said.
