Javid Ehsani Shakib hopes that his bronze medal in the 2016 Paralympic Games will be upgraded to gold medal in the next Paralympics.
Ehsani Shakib won a bronze medal in the men's shot put – F57 event at the Rio 2016 Paralympics Games.
“I suffered a shoulder injury at Paralympics but I will start my training soon. I want to show a better performance in 2016 Paralympic Games in Tokyo,” Ehsani Shakib told Paralympic.ir.
“We have three events ahead of us. First, we will participate at the IPC Grand Prix FAZAA International Athletics Competition in Dubai in March.
“We will also take part at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in May and IPC World Championships in London next July,” he added.
“I have to work very hard for IPC World Championships since so many athletes who failed to win a medal in Rio will partake in the competition to seize a medal,” Ehsani Shakib said.
“I am satisfied with the bronze medal I won in Rio since my main event is discus throwing but I took part at shot put. I am going to win a gold medal in the event in 2020 Paralympic Games,” Ehsani Shakib concluded.
