The Iranian team finished in first place after beating Japan 67-51 in the final match.

The tournament brought six teams Thailand (host), Iran, Japan, Australia, China and India together in Bangkok.

The Iranian team advanced to the world championship along with Japan and Australia. The prestigious event will be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in downtown Toronto, Canada from June 8 to 16.

“I am satisfied with our performance since several strong teams had participated in this edition. Our players tried hard in the final match because we had previously lost to Japan,” Palar told Paralympic.ir.

“Since the early start of the tournament, we wanted to win the title and have accomplished our goals. Our players trained hard in pre-tournament training camps and now they have earned what they wanted in the start of the event,” he added.

“We are going to get good results in the world championship and will begin our training camps from the next month. We need more facilities to improve,” Palar added.
