The Iranian shot putter claimed a silver medal with a throw of 10.93m in the F34 class.
The gold medal went to Qatar’s Salem Abdulrahman who threw 11.38m in London’s Olympic Park Stadium.
Colombian Mauricio Valencia claimed the bronze medal with 10.89m.
Siamak Saleh Farajzadeh, also from Iran, finished in sixth place with a throw of 10.11m.
The World Para Athletics Championships will run through to 23 July. More than 1,150 athletes from 90 countries are competing in 202 medal events.
