Siamand Rahman is hoping to break at Mexico City 2017 the world record of 310kg he set at Rio 2016, win his second Worlds gold medal and confirm once again why he is the world’s strongest Paralympian ever.
The mark he set at last year’s Paralympic Games is the equivalent of three baby elephants!
There is no rival that can even come close to the Iranian. Egypt’s Amr Mosaad and Jordan’s Jamil Elshebli, who completed the podium at Rio 2016, lifted 235kg and 234kg respectively, almost 80kg less than Rahman.
The 29-year-old two-time Paralympic gold medallist and defending world champion is convinced he can go even further.
“My main goal is to win the gold medal and relying on the Almighty God once again break the world record and hoist the flag of my dear country,” Rahman told paralympic.org.
