Day 4 delivered the 1st Paralympic gold for Iran, read all about it here.

On day 4 of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Iran’s Sitting volleyball made its debut at the Games by winning 3 straight sets 25-23, 25-16 and 25-17 against Germany. Archer Sina Menshazadeh defeated South Africa’s representative in individual compound to face Finland in the knockout. Biabani also won a hard-fought match against Australia’s archer in W2 Individual compound.

In the most important race for Team Iran on day 4, Roohollah Rostami competed against lifters from China, Ukraine, Greece, Georgia, Colombia, Italy and brazil and bagged the first gold medal for Team Iran at the Games by doing 234 kg.

On the same day, Amanollah Papi won the third medal for the delegation in the men’s javelin throw F57 with a 49.56 m throw and stood second after Azerbaijan’s 51.42 meter throw.
