NPC Iran will celebrate the 14th National Paralympic Day on October 16th with 50 participants due to COVID restrictions.
October 16th marks Iran’s National Paralympic Day which is annually celebrated across all 31 provinces of the country. During this event, many workshops and sporting activities are usually delivered in a week-long program across different provinces to raise awareness and help make our society more inclusive.
This year, however, in light of the COVID-19 restrictions and the nationwide ban on large gatherings, NPC Iran has intended to scale down the event and deliver the program with 50 participants, tops, at the National Olympic and Paralympic Academy of Iran. During this event, which is to be telecasted live on the National Broadcasting, Zahra Nemati, Iran’s three-time Paralympics gold medalist, will represent the Paralympians at the event and share their message to the world. Besides, some programs will run at some sanatoria and schools for the students with special needs.
National Paralympic Day was first celebrated in 2003 and later in 2016 was included in the National Calendar by a Presidential order.
