Iran
finished in fourth place at the 2022 International Blind Football Federation
(IBSA) Blind Football Asia/Oceania Championships.
In the
third-place match, Iran was defeated against Japan 4-3 in penalty shootout
after the two teams shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw.
Formerly,
Iranian squad won over Australia, Uzbekistan and South Korea but lost to China
in penalty shootout and failed to qualify for the final match.
Securing the spots in 2024 Paralympic Games, China
won the title and Thailand stood the second.
The
event served as the qualifier for the 2023 World Championships Birmingham 2023
and Paris Paralympics 2024 and China, Thailand and Japan also qualified for it.
The
competition was held in Kochi, India from November 11 to 18.
