Iranian players
were the big winners in the final match of group stage. The squad, which faced
Ukraine, won a close game (5-4) and was enough to push the United States out of
the quarterfinals, even with the win against Colombia. Iran’s Hasan Jafari with
27 goals selected as the Men’s best scorer.
On Thursday 15
December, Iran lost to Brazil 15-5 in quarterfinals.
Team Melli had
later defeated Colombia 15-5, Egypt 10-3, Argentina 10-6 and Ukraine 4-3 and lost
to China 7-5, Lithuania 15-5 and the U.S. 11-9.
Brazil
celebrated the victory against China (6-5) in the final competition and won the
Men’s title. Gold and silver medals in the World Championships had direct
access to the Paralympic Games.

A total of 32 national teams (16 Men and 16 Women) from 23
countries took part in the competitions until November 16.
