Iranian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Camp to start on 14 Jan.
Iranian Senior Men's squad to launch their new round of wheelchair basketball trainings in Tehran, on January 14.

 

According to IRISFD announcement, 16 Players are to attend in the sixth round of wheelchair basketball training camp from 14 to 22 January 2023, in Tehran.

In this 8-day camp, para athletes will train with head coach Mohammadreza Dastyar, coaches Abbas Khaki and Adel Torfi and Yaser Gilaki as fitness coach.  

The players from across the country will be training for the opportunity to represent their best in the selection process for attending in the IWBF World Championships.

 

Squad’s members list:

Hakim Mansouri, Vahid Sa’adatpour, Saeid Heidari, Abdoljalil Gharanjik, Hasan Abdi, Ali Karimi, Alireza Kamalifar, Omid Hadi Azhar, Amir Hossein Eslamian, Aboulfazl Jalaei, Faleh Ayyashi, Ali Shokouhi, Mansour Ahmadi, Esmaeil Fazeli and Mohammad Mohammadnezhad.  

The Senior Men’s National Team is the defending Asian title. The team ranked fourth at the previous Championships in 2018.

 

IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships

The 2022 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships originally scheduled for 16 – 27 November 2022 have been postponed until 9 – 20 June 2023.

 According to IWBF, 16 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams will compete for the World ranking and the hosts United Arab Emirates will welcome over 300 international wheelchair basketball players to compete over twelve days. The event is held every four years with the previous Championships in 2018 taking place in Hamburg, Germany.
