Iran National Paralympic Committee holds the first coordination meeting for Paris 2024 Games at NPC’s headquarters, today.
Iran NPC, Tehran: The first coordination meeting of
Iranian delegation at Paris 2024 Paralympic Games was chaired by the NPC President
Dr. Ghafoor Karegary on Sunday 12 March 2023.
At the meeting, which was attended by
the NPC officials and the presidents of the national federations, preparation
issues for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games were discussed.
At the beginning, Dr.
Karegary briefly listed the goals and missions of Iran NPC delegation at
Paralympic Games.
“Considering the development of para
sports, Iran’s medal standing, raising competitive spirit among para athletes
to do their best and also improving the quality of sport management are our major
priorities for Paris 2024,” he mentioned.
“With less than seven months to go, Hangzhou
Asian Para Games will happen, and we will send our athletes to compete at the
event. So, it will be a great opportunity for preparation of Paris 2024, too. Our
upcoming national training camps will aim mutual preparation for both Asian
Para Games and Paralympics.”
“Following national selective
programs for the teams should be considered by all of the Iranian federations,”
Mr. President said.
During the meeting, a detailed,
analytic report of Iran’s attendance at the Paralympic Games and its medal
standings were delivered by the Sport Manager of Iran NPC Dr. Saeid Solgi.
To conclude the discussions, it was decided
that “medal standing will be considered in the selection programs of teams and females’
athletes will gain more support by Iran NPC, as a priority group.”
