On April 15, a professional first-aid
trainer came to Hangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation and brought an insightful
and practical first-aid lecture to more than 20 volunteers for people with
impairments.
Starting from theoretical knowledge,
the trainer taught CPR, airway obstruction response, emergency trauma dressing
techniques and the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
In practical exercises, the
volunteers worked in groups to practice first aid scenarios such as CPR, wound
dressing and fractured bone fixation.
In addition to first-aid courses,
more courses are coming, including those on English, daily sign language,
communication skills with people with impairments and volunteer-related laws
and regulations. These courses will serve as continuous efforts to improve
volunteers' abilities and better serve the Hangzhou Asian Para Games.
