World ParaVolley Day is celebrated on
April 24 to honour the formal creation of World ParaVolley in 1981 at a meeting
held among six European representative countries in the German city of Bonn.
As an independent international
federation with membership in all four Zones of the world, World ParaVolley has
been built by pioneering volunteers who have given their time and expertise to
the development of ParaVolley and transforming it into one of the most
important and popular Para sports.
This year, World ParaVolley Day will
showcase the fourth edition of the World ParaVolley Awards, where individuals
are formally recognised for their significant contribution to ParaVolley over
the years.
“It is with great pleasure that we
recognize the efforts and achievements of individuals from the World ParaVolley
community in this, the fourth year of International World ParaVolley Day. Without people such as those who
have made the 2023 list of recipients, the organisation would be far less
developed and advanced.
“The 2023 awardees include five
athletes, four International Technical Officials, two administrators and one
coach – illustrating the various areas in which contributions have been made
over the years. We salute them!”
