NPC IRAN- Following the successful conclusion of the APC 30th Executive Board Session in Tehran, President Majid Rashed and Chief Executive Officer of the APC Tarek Souei (along with EB members) and President Ghafoor Karegari accompanied by Chief Executive Officer of NPC Kamal Javanmard jointly meet the Press, today on 29 May 2023.
Majid Rashed expresses his satisfaction of the second trip to Iran and appreciates the NPC's efforts for hosting the 30th APC Executive Board meeting in Tehran.
Opening his speech to Iranian media representatives, APC President States:
"This is my second trip to Iran in one year. The first time I was here to attend Iran’s 15th Paralympic Day celebration and I have to say Iran is a leading country in the Paralympic Movement, and it has the required potential to supporting the other West Asian countries for developing Para Sports.
Iranian NPC, under leadership of Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, earned many achievements and now Ghafoor Karegari continues the policy. Iran has excellent athletes and referees who can achieve good results in the upcoming competitions. As the ambassadors of APC, we must always play our role. Iran has already members in APC and will have more in the future.
During our joint summit with Dr. Karegari and Iran NPC Board, this morning, we have discussed the pathways to open cooperation and preparing MoUs for the near future.
Iran NPC and the National Paralympic Academy have great potential and facilities to hold educational workshops and classification courses.
Asian Paralympic Committee has been succeeded through the team work and clear planning of the Movement, in region. We have been held sustainable Games. The first edition of the Asian Para Games was held in 2010 in Guangzhou, China. Two more editions were held in 2014 (Incheon) and 2018 (Jakarta) and we want to organize a better Games in the fourth edition in Hangzhou, China. As we are approaching the Hangzhou Fourth Asian Para Games, our future programs also are in progress.

For fifth edition, Aichi-Nagoya will host the Asian Para Games in 2026 and Doha will also host the sixth in 2030."
Speaking on the major outcomes of the recent EB Session in Tehran, President Rashed states that the Board members continued working on the APC's Strategic Plan and all the NPCs are obliged to consider the results and try to develop the Movement. Some of the countries including China, South Korea, Iran, Japan, UAE, Uzbekistan will be asked to level up their activities in region. It will be required that NPCs encourage the youth to be involved in para sports."
The APC 30th EB Session was successfully hosted by Iran NPC from May 27 to 28, 2023 in Tehran.
