Iran is drawn in Group B of the 2023 ParaVolley Asia Oceania (PVAO) Zone Championships.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran- The 2023 ParaVolley Asia Oceania (PVAO) Zone Championship will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan from Monday 3 to Saturday 8 July.

The Draw and Schedule revealed for men and women events.

 

Men's Pool:

According to the draws, men’s sitting volleyball division splits into a group of three and a group of four teams:

Group A consists of Japan, Iraq and the 2019 PVAO bronze medallists Kazakhstan.

Group B features the reigning world and paralympic champion Iran men’s squad, the 2019 runner-up China, India and South Korea.

The group match Schedule for Iran’s Men:

Team Melli will first play against Indian squad on Monday, July 3rd at 15:30.

The next day, the men will face China at 15:30 and for the last match at the group stage, Iran is set to face South Korea on July 5th at 15:30.

 

Women's Pool:

The Women's competition also features four groups of four teams:

Group A includes 2019 bronze medallist South Korea, Iran, Kazakhstan and India.

Group B looks extremely competitive, featuring two-time PVAO champion China, 2019 runner up Japan, Mongolia and Thailand.

The group match Schedule for Iran’s Women:

Iran Women’s Team Melli will face South Korea in her Monday opening match on July 3rd at 15:30.

The Squad will next play the host Kazakhstan on Tuesday (16:30) and India on July 5th (11:00) in the group stage.

The group games are set for four days, semi-finals and finals are due to take place between 6 and 8 July.

 

The highest ranked teams of both men and women divisions at the Asia Oceania zonal championship, will secure their tickets to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
