Vahid Jeddi is the first Iranian judoka to win gold at the 2023 IBSA Judo World Championships.
Iran NPC, Tehran: In Men's J2 -73 kg final match of the World Blind Judo Championships, Iranian judoka Vahid Jeddi sealed gold medal in Birmingham, UK, on Wednesday August 23rd.
Vahid Jeddi, in a 37-second time record, overpowered Uzbekistan's Feruz Sayidov with an ippon at the 2023 IBSA Judo Worlds.
He also showed strength earlier in the competition when he took down his rivals from Japan, Portugal, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.
Nathan Petit from France stood 3rd place at the event.
While the other Iran representative, Meisam Banitaba defeated his rival from Uruguay and achieved a bronze medal in Men's J1 -60kg match.
The 2023 IBSA World Games is being take place between 14-27 August 2023.
