Iranian Para Taekwondoins captured a total of 12 medals in both men and women divisions of Asian Open Championships in Beirut, Lebanon.
Iran NPC, Tehran: Team Iran won the title of the 8th Asian Para
Taekwondo Open Championships with 12 colourful medals in both men and women
divisions.
Women’s squad picked up four golds
and two silvers at the event to rank the first.
Uzbekistan finished runner-up
while Kazakhstan ranked third.
Iran's men also collected two golds,
three silvers and one bronze to secure the first spot.
Uzbekistan and Chinese Taipei stood second and third places in
men’s event.
Two Iranian Para Taekwondoins were
selected among the best players of the sporting events.
Maryam Abdollahpour was introduced as
the top taekwondo player of the women’s and Fair Play Award of the
event also went to Iran’s Amir Joudi in men’s division.
Iranian technical staff Payam
Khanlarkhani (in men) and Atefeh Keshavarz (in women) were selected as the best coaches of the events.
