The NPC Executive Board (EB) held its 214th meeting in Tehran today.
Iran NPC, Tehran: Iran is set to send more national team sports to compete at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
The National Paralympic Committee Executive Board (EB) held a meeting in Tehran today, on December 11, 2023. The meeting was chaired by the President Karegary at the National Paralympic Committee's headquarters.
At the opening of the 214th NPC EB meeting, President Ghafoor Karegary briefed the previous decisions was made by the board members. A full report was also given to the Board about the previous NPC Session.
Following the updates, the board members discussed the athlete's commission regulations and Paris 2024 Paralympic Game's related issues.
According to the NPC Chief
Executive Officer Dr. Kamal Javanmard, the Board has approved an increase in number of the national team sports which to be sent to the 2024 Paralympic Games; including the teams which will win at the bronze medal matches (based on predictions).
"The EB has also decided to support more junior athletes (U19) for the 2024 Paralympic Games," he added.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will take place between 28 August and 8 September.
Team Iran
won 12 gold, 11 silver and one bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and
stood 13th in the final standing.
