Iranian VI Judoka claimed the title of 2024 IBSA Judo Grand Prix Heidelberg on Sunday night.
Iran NPC, Tehran: On day two of the 2024 IBSA Grand Prix (February 18th), Iranian Paralympic and World champion Vahid Nouri dominated on the mat of SNP dome Heidelberg
to double up gold medal for the country.
Vahid Nouri registered some
incredible performances on his way to the top of the podium in the men’s over 90kg
J2 category. He caught Turkey’s Ibrahim Bolukbasi with an ippon in the final.
Nouri previously overcame Zhurkamyrza
Shukurbekov from Kazakhstan and Jack Hodgson from Britain and advanced to the
final.
Turkish Ibrahim Bolukbasi reached
silver and also Britain’s Jack Hodgson and Kazakhstan’s Zhurkamyrza Shukurbekov
came in the third place of the same category.
Team Iran bagged two medals at the
event. Meysam Banitaba had also achieved a gold in men’s up to 60kg Saturday, on
17 February.
The 2024 IBSA Judo Grand Prix
Concluded in Heidelberg, Germany today and the next stop will be Turkey for the
2024 IBSA Judo Grand Prix Antalya, in the first days of April, last but one
stage before the end of the Road to Paris, in Tbilisi.
