Iran’s Nasrin Shahi won the title at P2 final of Changwon 2024 on Saturday (27 April).
Iran NPC, Tehran: On the third day of 2024 World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cup Changwon,
Iranian air pistol Para shooters, including Nasrin Shahi, Mohammadreza Mirshafiei and Sareh
Javanmardi, collected three medals (one gold, silver and bronze), respectively.
In P2 qualification, women’s 10m air pistol SH1, Iran's Nasrin Shahi scored 555 points to reach the
final and clinch her season’s first title in Changwon 2024 World Cup on Saturday.
Faezeh Ahmadi and Sareh Javanmardi,
had also qualified for the P2 final with the scores of 562 and 560,
respectively.
Shahi, who finished on 239.7 points,
was followed by Indian Sharma (234.2) and the other Iranian Para shooter Javanmardi
(214.8). Ahmadi could also manage the sixth place in the P2 final.
In the other event at the Changwon
International Shooting Range, Iranian Mohammadreza Mirshafiei shot 568 points in
the qualification round of P1 - men's 10m air pistol SH1- to pave his path to the final.
Mirshafiei finished in runner-up at the
final, with 234.8 points.
Team Melli is under the lead of head
coach Hossein Amiri, assisted by coaches Zeinab Aliakbari and Ebrahim Sangari
at the at the event.
As many as 125 athletes (including 71
men and 54 women) from 27 nations are competing in Changwon, Korea from April
24 to 30, 2024.
The event is a preparation for
athletes in the build-up to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
