Iran NPC, Tehran:
The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of
Iran has announced the details of Team Iran’s participation in the 17th Summer
Paralympic Games to be held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September
2024.
Islamic Republic of Iran delegation features
65 athletes at Paris 2024 competing in 10 sports including Para Archery, Para Athletics, Para Canoe,
Para judo, Goalball, Para Swimming, Shooting Para Sport, Sitting Volleyball,
Para Powerlifting, Para Taekwondo.

Mohammadreza Mirshafiei, who won P4 silver at Changwon 2023, alongside runner
Hajar Safarzadeh will carry the National flag at the Opening Ceremony on 28
August which will be held for the first time outside the stadium through the
iconic Avenue des Champs-Elysees to Place de la Concorde.
Safarzadeh claimed a gold medal at
the 2024 Kobe in the Women's 400m T12 and became Iran's first female athlete to
win a World title.
Ms. Armita Rezaeinejad- the daughter
of martyred nuclear scientist Darioush Rezaeinejad- has also announced as the
spiritual leader of the delegation.
Iran sent 62 athletes to Tokyo 2020
Paralympic Games in 10 sports, winning 12 golds, 11 silvers and one bronze.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will
be held from 28 August to 8 September with around 4400 athletes competing in 22
sports.
It was announced at a press
conference by the Team Iran’s Chef de Mission Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar at the
NPC headquarters today (August 14, 2024) attended by national media
representatives.
