With her run at Stade de France Tuesday morning, Safarzadeh became the first Iranian woman to ever get a medal at the Paralympic Games.

 

Winning a silver medal, Iran's runner Hajar Safarzadeh, with 55.39, finished behind Cuban legend Omara Durand in Women's 400m - T12 Final on day six of the Paris 2024 Paralympics on 3 Sep.
She made her mark by winning medal at her first Paralympic appearance and bettered Asian record three times in preliminary, semi-final and final events of the Paris 2024. 
After winning the title of Kube 2024 Para Athletics Worlds in May, Safarzadeh earned a spot in the Paralympics Paris 2024 and made history as the first Iranian runner woman named to Paralympic Games.
Team Iran has already collected 12 Paralympic medals at Paris 2024, including two golds, seven silvers and three bronzes.
