Team Iran won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Day 6 on Tuesday Sept. 3.
Hajar Safarzadeh made history in the women’s 400 meters T12, winning a silver medal of the 2024 Paralympic Games. She clocked 55.39 seconds and came second. The gold medal went to Cuban sprinter Omara Durand Elías with 53.59.
Two more para athletes didn’t live up to the expectations. 2020 Paralympics gold medalist Hashemiyeh Motaghian finished in fifth place in the Women's Javelin Throw - F56, and Ali Olfatnia came fourth in the long jump T37.
Para shooter Roghaye Shojaei failed to qualify for the Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 final.
Sitting volleyball eased past Germany in straight sets (25-16, 25-13, 25-16) in Pool B and will play Egypt on Thursday in the semifinals.
