With the Team Iran's action at Paris Paralympics wrapped up, a Youth Para Sports Festival will be held in Tehran, coincide with the National Paralympic Day on October 15, 2024.
Iran's National Cooperative Sports Federations, in collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee, are to hold a three-day festival of Para sports for Junior athletes.
The event will feature 16 sports, including Para archery, Para arm-wrestling, Para athletics, Para badminton, Para canoe, Para cycling, Para chess, Para equestrian, Goalball, Para powerlifting, Para swimming, Para table tennis, Para taekwondo, Shooting Para sport, Sitting volleyball, Wheelchair basketball, and Wheelchair tennis.
The festival aims at talent identification for upcoming Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Para Games. It invites every athlete with disabilities from all corners of the country to join the para sports.
The invitees will be classified according to their disabilities and participated in the different sport events.
The athletes will not begin competing on Tuesday (15 Oct), the day of the opening ceremony. Rather, the events will begin the following day, giving everyone the chance to enjoy this unifying event.
The events will be concluded on October 19, 2024.
