Iran NPC, Tehran:
Only two years until the Asian Para
Games 2026, and preparations are starting to get underway and on October 12,
the organizing committee had an event in which they unveiled the name of the
official mascot with its debut to the public.
Inspired by Aichi’s water systems, the
name of the mascot of 2026 Asian Para Games “UZUMIN” is based on the words
“Uzu” (whirlpool) and “Izumi” (spring), expanding on the concept of water.
Represents the hope that the
athletes' passion will converge like a "whirlwind" in Aichi-Nagoya,
and that the emotion born there will emerge like a "spring" and spread
throughout Asia.
The unveiling of this vibrant
character reflects the anticipation for the Asian Para Games, which will
feature 18 sports and between 3,600 and 4,000 athletes from 45 Asian National
Paralympic Committees.
The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games will
take place in Japan from 18 to 24 October 2026.
