With five golds and three bronzes, Team
Iran's Youth Para Taekwondoins topped the podium at the 2024 Open Championship
in Bahrain, Manama.
Iranian athletes
Aylar Jami (-47kg), Zahra Rahimi (-52kg), Amir Hossein Alizadeh (-63kg), Abolfazl
Imani (-58kg) and Amir Mohammad Haghighatshenas (-70kg) claimed five gold
medals while Narges Javadi (-47kg), Roza Ebrahimi (-57kg) and Romina Chamsouraki
(-65kg) also won three bronzes.
The national coaches
Ali Karimi Saber and Mahdi Pourrahnama led Iran's men and the head coach Zahra
Hosseini, assisted by the coach Mehri Shabani, conducted women's squad at the
event.
The Para
Taekwondo 2024 Open Championship was held in Manama on November 29, drawing 56
taekwondo fighters from 15 countries.
The tournament
provided the first step towards preparation of Iran's youth for 2025 Tashkent
Youth Asian Para Games.
