The International Day of Persons with Disabilities
(IDPD) is observed annually on December 3rd (corresponding to Azar 13th).
The Day is an opportunity to celebrate valuable achievements of the persons with disabilities who, despite
these barriers, have not only broken through barriers but have also created
their paths to hope and success.
The theme for 2024 IDPD is, "Amplifying
the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable
future," highlighting people with disability as leaders, and the way
leaders with disability make the world a fairer place for everyone.
On the occasion of the Day, we are proud to reaffirm
our commitment to provide comprehensive support for athletes with disabilities and
Paralympians, for the ability to inspire others through their honors and as the
worthy ambassadors who can spread the Paralympic values with a strong impact on
youth and communities.
Iran National Paralympic Committee is always
striving to create equal sports opportunities and providing a suitable sportive environment
for the growth of individuals with disabilities.
We invite all authorities, institutions and
communities of the country to join us in this effort for strengthening the
culture of solidarity and paving the way for a better sustainable and inclusive
future.
Once again, on the behalf of Iran Paralympic Committee, I would like to express my gratitude to
the persons with disabilities and Paralympic champions for making great efforts towards a more inclusive and accessible society and wish them all the best.
