Call for Nominations: Team Iran Athletes' Commission

Nominations opened for Iran NPC Athletes’ Commission election.

Iran NPC, Tehran:

With the current four-year term coming to an end, it is time to gear up for new elections and fresh faces in the Athletes' Commission!

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Iran has opened the nomination process for the NPC Athletes’ Commission (AC), ahead of an election that will take place on January 21, 2024.

The National Paralympic Committee's AC serves as the representative group and voice of Team Iran's athletes.

 

The General Eligibility Requirements for Candidates

1. All candidates must be a “16 Year Athlete” and hold Iranian Nationality. Dual citizenship is not permitted.

2. All candidates must be a Medalists in at least one of the previous two editions of the Summer Paralympic Games.

3. All candidates must have competed in either of the previous two editions of the Winter Paralympic Games.

4. Athletes without suspension, disqualification and criminal conviction at the time of election.

5. Athletes having commitment to athletes’ obligations stated in the agreements of the NPC.

6. Athletes from IPC-recognized Paralympic sports may stand for election to the council.

 

A Note for Women Athletes:

In line with the commitment for supporting women, female who have won medals in the last three Asian Para Games are also eligible for membership.

Mark your calendar!

Elections for the Athlete Commission will take place on January 21, 2024.

The Candidates are expected to submit their written forms and deliver the applications in person to the National Paralympic Committee at least one month before the elections.

For athletes already competing in international events or national team camps, registration will be coordinated through the respective federation or authorized representative.
