Aftab Sport Complex host Para-Athletes from different parts of the country to show their capabilities. Mr. Hadizadeh; Technical Deputy of IRISFD referred to the two day event (30-31 May) as totally 396 participants came to Tehran; 164 were women and competition included Long jump, Track, Throwing. Amazingly, five Asian new records were achieved in these Championships
"Based on the set entry criteria for national team; any athlete who achieve the third world ranking in 2014, has the chance to join national team. However, there is another opportunity for the athletes in July to prove themselves."
IPC Technical Delegate, Mr. Abdelnasser Brahamia observed the competition to make sure everything happened under IPC code. He further extended his satisfaction about the quality of the organization and announced this event will be the best time to prepare the athletes for the Doha 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships. The current results are good news for the Iranians in upcoming competitions in Doha.
Zanjan city (with 55 point) stood at the first, Isfahan and Khouzestan respectively with 48 and 46 points satisfied with silver and bronze.
