Iran NPC, Tehran:
The meeting, which was chaired by NPC
President Dr. Ghafoor Karegary, heard updates on several topics including Team Iran's
achievements at Paris 2024 Paralympics, NPC plans for the development of
National Paralympic Movement and preparations program for upcoming events, including 2025 Asian Youth Para Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 APG and LA 2028 Paralympic Games.
President Karegary
welcomed all participants, especially high-ranking officials from the Ministry
of Sport & Youth Affairs Ahmad Donyamali, Member of the Iranian
Parliament Ahmad Rastineh and the President of I.R. Iran
NOC Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa.
The NPC CEO opened the meeting with the annual report. It highlighted the growth of Iran
Paralympic Movement over the last year and reviewed the preparation process and results of Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
After a detailed review of the NPC strategic plan, General Assembly also approved the financial reports delivered by the
Board of Auditors.
This year’s NPC General Assembly also
featured new membership of three more national federations including Rowing Federation, Mountaineering & Sport Climbing Federation and Fencing Federation.
In his speech, the Ministry of Sport
& Youth Affairs, praised the NPC for their outstanding
efforts so far in developing the Paralympic Movement in Iran.
The meeting was also attended by IRI
Minister for Sport's Deputies, NPC President officials, NOC Secretary General,
representatives from National Cooperative Federations (NCFs), para sports
experts, para-athletes’ representatives, coaches’ representatives and the other
GA members.

Team Iran competed in 10 sports at Paris 2024 Paralympics and finished 14 overall in the medal standings, earning a total of 25 medals.
