With less than a year until the 2025
Asian Youth Para Games, a total of 12 men kicked off their training in the second
national Goalball camp on Thursday (16 January) at Tehran's Shahid Harandi
Sports Complex.
The roster:
Mahdi Ghafoori, Taha Keramati,
Alireza Rasouli, Abolfazl Ramezanzadeh, Hossein Karimi, Abdolahad Saleh Zehi,
Ali Reigi, Hossein Moradi, Benyamin Ghobadi, Soroush Mirehki, Seyed Ali
Mousavi, Ahmadreza Ghasemi
Training sessions will be continued
until the January 22nd, under the lead of head coach Mahmoud Yousefian,
assisted by the national coach Rahmat Hosseini Moghadam. Adel Najafi also accompanies
the team as strength and conditioning coach.
Organized by IRI Sports Federation
for the Blind in partnership with National Paralympic Committee of Iran, the
camp aims at preparing the young Goalball players for the 2025 Asian Youth Para Games (AYPG).
The fifth edition of AYPG will
be held during September and October 2025. The event is expected to feature an
estimated 1500 athletes from 45 NPCs will compete in ten sports.
