The National para snowboard

The FIS World Cup Para Snowboard
"Crazy Curves 2025" is being held in Kühtai, near Innsbruck, on
February 1 and 2, 2025. This event marks the first time a FIS World Cup in para
snowboarding is taking place in Kühtai.
The competition includes the banked
cross slalom discipline, where athletes navigate a course with banked turns,
hills, and jumps. Each athlete has three attempts to qualify for the final,
with their fastest run counting towards the ranking.
Para snowboarding is a relatively
young sport, first appearing in the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi. It features
athletes with lower and upper limb impairments competing in races against the
clock. Athletes with leg amputations use prostheses, while those with upper
limb impairments face challenges in balance control.
