Iran NPC Seminar on Advancing National Paralympic Movement

Iran NPC held a seminar to advance the Paralympic Movement, focusing on growth and inclusivity, today.

Tehran, Iran NPC:
The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Iran held the seminar on Development of the Iranian Paralympic Movement, today (18 Feb).

The event brought together NPC President Dr. Ghafoor Karegary, along with the committee's vice presidents, directors, heads, and representatives of Cooperative Sports Federations from the National Council for the Paralympic Movement.
A number of Paralympic champions and sports experts were also in attendance.

The seminar commenced with a presentation on the achievements and progress of NPC Iran’s grassroots sports initiatives. This was followed by an in-depth discussion outlining the vision, mission and the objectives of National Paralympic Movement Development Project, aimed at expanding the movement nationwide.

Key topics of discussion included raising public awareness, enhancing education, and fostering synergy between NPC Iran and its stakeholders to effectively implement the council’s development goals.

Concluding the meeting, participants and representatives from sports federations shared their insights, discussed existing challenges, and proposed practical solutions to further advance the national Paralympic movement.

The core mission of the Iranian Paralympic Movement is to transform the lifestyles of the target community through sports and physical activities. By leveraging fundamental reform strategies—such as increasing public awareness of para sports, promoting inclusive sports, strengthening financial resources, and expanding collaboration with relevant organizations—the Movement aims to encourage greater participation of individuals with disabilities in sports.
