Iran’s First
Vice President Mohammadreza Aref has congratulated the National Paralympic
Committee (NPC) over winning the
2025 International Women’s Day Recognition Award, in a social media post.
"This award
reflects the capabilities and determination of Iranian women who have made
history for the country," Aref said in a post on social media platform X on
Sunday evening.
“I also
congratulate the athlete women of my country and all those who prepared the
ground for this great achievement,” he added.

IPC's three
exceptional winners of the 2025 International Women’s Day Recognition Awards
were Penny Briscoe CBE from Paralympics GB (Leadership), Paralympian Zakia
Khudadadi (Emerging Leadership), and National Paralympic Committee of Iran (IPC
Member) were each recognized for their outstanding work ahead of International
Women’s Day on 8 March.
NPC Iran was
named the winner of the International Paralympic Committee's Member category
which recognises the leadership, impact and effective change initiated by a National
Paralympic Committee, an International Federations, International Organisations
of Sport for the Disabled, and a Regional Organisations.
Previously,
Iran's three-time Paralympic Champion Zahra Nemati was also Won the 2021
International Women’s Day Recognition award in NEXT GENERATION Category.
