Table Tennis was first introduced into the Games in Rome 1960 and has been a regular feature at every Paralympic Games ever since. The third largest sport in the Movement contains 40-odd million active players around the world. Table Tennis debuted in 1980 in Iran with the first national championships in the same year. In three years’ time, I.R. Iran national squad was formed, and in 1983 they were sent to Stoke Mandeville Games to experience their first international appearance.
Table tennis is now practiced by 115 provincial clubs for both men and women in the country.
