Para Nordic Skiing as one of the toughest winter sports consists of two disciplines: cross country and biathlon. Cross country made its first Paralympic appearance in 1976 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Later on, biathlon was introduced to the Paralympic Games in 1988 for the athletes with physical impairment, and in 1992, visually impaired athletes made their debut in this discipline. However, Iran made its debut in 2018 and took part at winter Paralympics in PyeongChang for the first time.
