Iran Bags 5 Medals at the World Para Taekwondo Grand-Prix Finals
Iran NPC; Tehran- The Two-day Grand Prix Finals were held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from December 8-10, 2022.

 

Iranian National Squads achieved 5 colorful medals at the Riyadh 2022 World Para Taekwondo Grand-Prix Final (G10). Saeid Sadeghianpour (under 63 kg), Alireza Bakht (under 80 kg), Hamed Haghshenas (over 80 kg), and Maryam Abdollahpour (under 47 kg) managed to win gold medals and Roza Ebrahimi reached bronze.

The event attended by the participation of 77 para taekwondo players, including 40 men and 37 women, from 26 countries.

The Grand Prix is an important stop on the road to Paris 2024 Paralympics as all the invited athletes had a chance to achieve Paralympic qualification ranking points.

Iran National men and women teams participated in the 2022 World Para Taekwondo Grand-Prix Final (G10) from December 8-10 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Head coach Atefeh Keshavarz and coach Zahra Hosseini led women squad including Maryam Abdollahpour, Roza Ebrahimi and Rayeheh Shahab in the event.

Men’s squad including Saeid Sadeghianpour, Alireza Bakht and Hamed Haghshenas were also led by Morteza Soltani, head coach and Ali Karimi Saber.

The two-day Grand Prix Finals was the first Grand Prix event hosted in Saudi Arabia and took place at the Green Halls.
