Iran’s Men squad to start their new round of wheelchair basketball training in national camp on 16 December.
Iran
Sports Federation for the Disabled (IRISFD) announced that 18 athletes will
participate in the Senior Men's Training Camp from December 16-24, 2022, in
Tehran.
The
camp will provide an opportunity for on-court practices and training as
Wheelchair Basketball Iran moves towards making selections for the June’s IWBF
World Championships.
In the 8-day camp, para athletes
will train with head coach
Mohammadreza Dastyar and coach Abbas Khaki.

Iranian
Senior Men’s National Team is the defending Asian champion title and has ranked
fourth at the 2018 World Championships.
IWBF
Wheelchair Basketball World Championships
The 2022
IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships originally scheduled for 16 – 27
November 2022 have been postponed until 9 – 20 June 2023.
According
to IWBF announcement 16 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams will compete for the World
ranking and the hosts United Arab Emirates will welcome over 300 international
wheelchair basketball players to compete over twelve days. The event is held
every four years with the previous Championships in 2018 taking place in
Hamburg, Germany.
