World Games (officially known XVI Special Olympic World Games) came to a conclusion
in Berlin, on June 25th.
The 16th Edition of the World Summer Games of Special Olympics, (as a multi-sport event for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, welcoming more than 330,000 spectators during competition, and helping to spread the message of inclusion) was held in Berlin, Germany from June 18 to 25, 2023.
Iran’s Shahou Mohammadi won the title of the Level B 400m freestyle in 7:44.19 in the MB01 at the 2023 Special Olympics Summer World Games
Iran bagged 9 colourful medals, including 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze at the event.
Berlin witnessed the remarkable participation of Iran delegation, comprising 24 athletes (along with 12 coaches and staff), who competed in 9 sports, including futsal, cycling, badminton, table tennis, athletics, skate, bowling, boccia and swimming.
