Day 4- Iran's shot putter claimed world F53 gold at the Charlety Stadium, today.
Iran NPC, Tehran- On the fourth day of Paris 2023 World Championships, Rashid Masjedi topped the podium in men's F53 shot put events.
Masjedi also set a new Championship Record with his third 8.49m attempt and brought country's first gold medal at Charlety Stadium on Tuesday July 11th.
Iranian 34-year-old beat Ukraine’s Viktor Lehkodukh into silver and reigning world champion Czech Republic’s Ales Kisy into bronze.
Iranian Alireza Mokhtari Hemami, who claimed silver in Tokyo, also came fourth with his throw of 8.26m, in the same class.
Other Iran's representative Amanollah Papi had been finished in fourth place at men's F57 javelin throw, with an accepted record of 48.18 meters, on Monday.
World Para Athletics Championships is taking place between 8 and 17 July 2023. The competitions serve as a qualifier for next year’s Paralympic Games.
