A joint meeting was held between the officials of Iran NPC and National Federations.
NPC Iran, Tehran: With 68 days to go until the 4th Asian Para Games (APG), a joint meeting was held between
President Karegary along with the other NPC officials and the Heads of National
Cooperating Federations (NCFs) -which will be representing Team Iran at the event- today on 15 August 2023.
The meeting, which was chaired by NPC
President, heard updates on several preparation reports and plans of the
cooperating NCFs for Hangzhou event.
In his opening speech, Dr. Ghafoor Karegary said: "The upcoming Asian Para Games is considered as a strategic regional
event for our National Paralympic Committee; therefore, its careful
planning should be carried out seriously and co-operatively to reach the goals."
Clarifying the purpose of meeting, he
added: "I believe that, through this meeting
in the remaining time, as the delegation's officials we would be able to have a more in-depth and comprehensive
understanding of our issues. Together, we will make all the necessary efforts to display Team Iran capabilities.""
As always, National Paralympic Committee of Iran, supports all NCFs
and their para-athletes. So, I have constantly visited
national training camps.
We also plan to visit all other training camps of the national teams before sending them to Hangzhou, to
review their preparation programmes and requests," Mr. President emphasized.
Concluding the meeting, the Heads of
NCFs expressed their preparation plans and exchange their ideas and concerns.
Iran finished third in
the medal table, claiming 51 golds, 42 silvers and 43 bronzes at the 2018 Asian Para Games; the country's
best performance in an Asian Para Games, in Jakarta, where the 209 Iranian para
athletes (136 men and 73 women) competed in 13 sport disciplines.
