Iran's Aliakbar Gharibshahi won his second World title in Men's up to 107kg at Dubai 2023, today.


Iran NPC, Tehran: One year ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Iranian para powerlifters Aliakbar Gharibshahi won gold medal of men's up to 107kg and stamped his dominance at the 2023 Worlds in Dubai, today on August 25th. 

Iran's 2021 World champion missed out on his first and third lift due to press sequence issues, but he lifted 248kg in his second attempt, and retook the lead from Mongolia's Can Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar, once again!

 Ukraine's Anton Kriukov also stood third place in this weight category.

While the other Iranian para powerlifter Saman Razi also finished in fourth place of Men's up to 107kg.

Although Razi couldn't lift 232kg in his third try, he stood third place of the World by his two attempts of 224 and 231without any issues and achieved a bronze medal with a total lift of 455kg.

 

Iranian Mahdi Sayadi and Ahmad Aminzadeh compete in Men's Over 107kg, this evening on Dubai 2023 World stage.

The 2023 Para Powerlifting World Championships - which is taking place in Dubai, UAE, from 22 to 30 August- is a compulsory tournament to qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris.
