National para swimmers are to make splash at Azadi Swimming Pool from Friday (September 29th).
Iran NPC, Tehran: With the upcoming
Asian Para Games in mind, a total of four national para athletes are to be in
action for their last performance at the swimming pool of Azadi Sport Complex
in Tehran from September 29th.
Training
sessions will be conducted by Alireza Izadi as the head coach, along with the
coaches Hamid Hasani Sadi and Saeid Sanjari. Ali Gorzi will accompany the squad
as S&C coach.
The camp will be lasted before the team's departure to Hangzhou, until October 17, 2023.
The shortlisted para swimmers for
the final trainings are as follows:
Shahin Izadyar, Sina
Zeyghaminejad, Abolfazl Negarestani, Abolfazl Zarifpour.
The 20th round
of national camps has staged by I. R. Iran Sports Federation for the Persons
with Disabilities (IRISFD) following a holistic partnership of the National
Paralympic Committee to prepare the squad for the Asian Para Games.
The 4th Asian Para Games will be
held in Hangzhou, China from 22 to 28 October 2023.
Iranian Para swimmers, including
PI and VI, claimed 8 medals (6 Gold, 1 Silver and Bronze) at the 2018 Jakarta
Asian Para Games.
