Iran NPC, Tehran: With the less than four months to go until the start of Paralympic Games, Team Iran's Paracanoe booked three spots on the plane to Paris 2024, today (11May).

 

At the final day of 2024 ICF Paracanoe World Championships in Szeged, Hungary, Iranian athletes secured three Paralympic quota places in both women’s and men’s divisions. 

Saeid Hosseinpour was the first Iranian down the course, paving his path to the A final, winning a bronze medal in Men's KL1 event to cement a quota spot for Iran in Paris. 

Eslam Jahedi also placed among the world's ten tops in VL2, locking up another quota for the country on the men’s side. 

In the A final of Women's KL3, Shahla Behrouzirad finished in the eighth and earned the last quota spot of Iran's Para canoe for upcoming 2024 Paralympic Games.


Team Iran already secures 41 Paris 2024 berths

Iranian Para athletes have already secured a total of 41 quota places (27 men & 14 women) across the eight sports, including Para Athletic, Para Archery, Para Shooting, Para Taekwondo, Para Canoe, Para Swimming and the two men’s national teams of Sitting Volleyball and Goalball.
